Pete Holmes (full name Peter Benedict Holmes ) was born on March 30, 1979 in Lexington, Massachusetts. He studied at the Lexington High School. Later he continued his education at the Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. During his college years he participated in an improvisational comedy troupe. Pete started his career as a stand-up comedian.

Later he moved on television. He has made his TV debut on Comedy Central's Premium Blend. He also was a regular guest for “All Access”. Soon after this, Pete’s cartoons have appeared in The New Yorker.In addition to his regular comedian appearances, he also was involved in several special episodes for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon show and John Oliver's New York Stand Up Show.
