Personal life
The legendary Pernell Roberts graced the earth on 18th of May in 1928. He was born to parents Pernell Elven Roberts Sr. and Minnie Myrtle Morgan Roberts in Waycross, Georgia. He was a white American since birth. His dad used to work as a sales representative and Pernell grew up in a financially stable house.
Since the early years of his life, Pernell was blessed with an innate talent of playing the horn, acting and singing. He used to display his talent during school award functions for which he received numerous accolades during his school life. As per his biography, Pernell Roberts attended the University of Maryland wherein he got his first ever exposure to acting in a traditional theater.
Pernell Roberts was married four times and divorced thrice during his lifetime. The women he wedded to were Vera Mowry, Kara Knack, Judith Roberts and Eleanor Criswell. Pernell was the father of only one child Jonathan Christopher who unfortunately passed away in a motorcycle accident. Pernell Roberts died on 24th January 2010 whilst losing a battle to pancreatic cancer.
Career
Pernell Roberts enacted in several hit novels and dramas which included ‘The Adding Machine’, ‘Confidence of Our Fathers’ and ‘The Firebrand’. After a series of releasing such successful acts, he came into association with the prestigious and Arena Stage Company which was based in Washington, D.C. There, Pernell did some plays such as ‘The Playboy of the Western World’, ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’, ‘The Taming of the Shrew’, ‘The Glass Menagerie’ and ‘Twelfth Night’. Pernell was the recipient of the ‘Best Actor Drama Desk Award’ because of his acting in the Broadway ‘Macbeth’. Some other Broadways in which he appeared included ‘A Clearing in the Woods’, ‘The Lovers’, ‘The Duchess of Malfi’ and ‘The Taming of the Shrew’.
Apart from releasing a series of successful Broadways and TV shows, Pernell starred in many movies like ‘The Adventures of Nick Carter’, ‘Assignment: Munich’, ‘Dead Man on the Run’, ‘The Silent Gun’, ‘The Deadly Tower’, ‘Desperado’, ‘The Night Rider’, etc. This is only a glimpse of the numerous hit movies that Pernell Roberts had released during his acting career. For this reason, his net worth was $10 million when he passed away.
