Nicholas Roger Swardson was born on October 9, 1976 in Minneapolis–Saint Paul. His parents were Pamela and Roger Eric Swardson. He also has siblings, an older sister, Rachel, and a brother, John. His father was an editor and journalist. His parents divorced when he was 13 years old. He studied at the St. Paul Central High school. Nick was expelled from school four times. He was pretty problem student and also was enrolled in a rehab program. When he was at 16 years old, he was interested in acting and after he finally graduated his school in the 1996 he decided to pursue stand-up comedy rather than went to the college.

He began his career at the comedy club Acme Comedy Co in Minneapolis. He attended open mic nights at the age of 18. In the 1997 he was selected to perform stand-up at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival. Afterwards he moved to the New York City, where he continued his stand-up career. Then he decided to try himself in the Los Angeles, where Nick performed in many night clubs. He also appeared in some commercials. In the 1999 he finally appeared on television with an episodic role in the sitcom “LateLine”. The next year he played the role of the David Bowie fan in the drama movie “Almost Famous”.
He made a stand-up performance in Comedy Central Presents special in the 2001. Two years later he tried himself as a screenwriter and co-wrote with Jamie Kennedy and Adam Small the screenplay for Malibu's Most Wanted. He got his breakthrough time with role of Terry Bernadino on the Comedy Central TV series “Reno 911!”. It was a very bright character so he made his appearance in series during 2003-2009 and also played in the full motion picture Reno 911!: Miami”.
He is a good friend of famous actor Adam Sandler. Their common work and friendship started in the 2003.Adam contacted him after his appearance on Comedy Central special and made a proposition of collaborating. Since that time Nick has appeared in numerous movies along with Adam Sandler such as “Click”, “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry”, “You Don't Mess with the Zohan”, “Just Go with It” and “That's My Boy”. In the 2006 Nicke played the role of Rick in the movie “Gay robot”. He also is a voice actor and was involved with such projects like “Bolt” and “Hotel Transylvania 2”. Nick starred in the 2006 comedy movie “Grandma's Boy”. He starred in the movie “Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star”in the 2011 and he also was a co-writer and co-producer for that project.
