Matt Blashaw is a famous American host, actor, writer and celebrated handyman. PERSONAL LIFE:
Matt was born in Orange Country, California on November 6th, 1975. His parents are American and he belongs to white ethnicity. Matt’s father was a homebuilder and an engineer which inspired Matt since he was a child. He used to do building projects in his dad’s lumberyard. He also built a huge skateboard ramp in his home as a child. Blashaw worked on a lot of home based DIY projects, electrical and plumbing works in and around his home, since an early age.
He used to build the sets for his high school’s musical theatre productions. His undying passion for the field led him to take up a degree in BFA from Chapman University. He majored in film and television production. While in university, he won the Filmmaker of the year award which was very coveted. As far as his personal life is concerned, Matt has been married to Teresa Bradshaw. He is estimated to have a net worth of around 1.5 million.
CAREER:
After graduation, Matt worked in several sectors belonging to the entertainment and construction industries. He also served for five years with Disney in their technical department. He gained his expertise in special effects for shows and electrical installations during his tenure with Disney. Post this, he obtained his contractor’s license and this led him to pursue his career as a licensed contractor and he set out to remodel homes. Through this, Blashaw gained a lot of experience in real estate. He also became a realtor selling homes for Century 21.
It was then that the actor decided to participate in a contest conducted by DIY Network called Stud Finder which aimed to hunt for America’s top repair man. Matt won the contest and the show became a raging hit, since then, he had been partnering with DIY network for various programs. He hosts several hit shows for DIY network such as Money Hunters, Big Cabin, Project Xtreme, Professional grade, Worst Kitchen in America. Matt has been hosting DIY network’s Yard crashers since 2008. The show has a very interesting concept in the sense that the show’s hosts keep looking out for normal people in home improvement stores. If the participants are lucky enough they get picked and will be offered a complete landscape makeover worth thousands of dollars. This show has a dedicated fan following, which has led to continue for multiple seasons.
