From her biography, Lucia Mendez was born in Mexico, in the city called Leon in Guanajuato. She started her career in the year 1972, when El Heraldo, an important newspaper in Mexico featured her as El Rostro, which means the face after winning the title. Afterwards, she was in uncredited role for the film Vuelven Los Campeones Justicieros which was given the name of The Champion Five Return in USA.
She had been in many roles during the seventies and it includes one in The Children of Sanchez series when she appeared with Dolores Del Rio and Anthony Quinn. She got her first remarkable role when she got a role in Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse of 1971 together with Angelica Maria. She continued in supporting role in Mundos Opuestos, La Tierra and Cartas Sin Destino.
When she starred in Viviana telenovela, she became a super star in both Latin America and in Mexico. The role made her to be recognized around the entire world and it was shown in France, Italy and Spain. In the movie, she was playing like underdog but had a strong charismatic character.
