Kristin Davis is a popular American actress, having appeared in some very popular and long-running television shows such as Melrose Place and Sex and the City. Early Life and Beginning of Career
Kristin Landen Davis was born in Boulder in Colorado State. Her birth date is February 23, 1965. She suffered several hardships as a child when her parents had an early divorce when she was merely a baby. She was then put up for adoption and that’s how she landed in the house of Keith Davis, a psychology professor. After this, the family moved to Columbia in South Carolina. In 1983, after her graduation, she moved to New Jersey. Here she even waited tables for a living. Eventually, she opened a yoga class and began auditioning for roles.
A television career fortunately opened up for her when she won the auditioning round for the role of Brooke Campbell, which was for the show Melrose Place. Though her acting was appreciated, the audience disliked the character itself and it was cut off from the show. A few years later, she won the long-running role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City and since then there has been no looking back for her.
Acting Career
Along with Melrose Place, Davis also appeared in early episodes of General Hospital. She was also seen in other TV shows such as Seinfeld, Will and Grace, and Friends. Sex and the City changed her fortunes for the better though. She won the Women in Film Lucy Award for her performances and even received an Emmy nomination. She was also seen in the pilot of Soccer Moms and as a guest judge on Project Runway.
Her film repertoire includes The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl and The Shaggy Dog. She has also acted in Deck the Hall, Three Days, and Couples Retreat with Jon Favreau who played her husband. Her television roles continued in both the Sex and the City movies as well. Currently, there have been reports that she is developing a new series for HBO.

Personal Life
Davis is not married. She lives in Los Angeles with an adopted daughter named Gemma Rose.
She suffered from alcoholism problems since an early age. At 22, she gave it up using nothing else but her tremendous willpower. She is also an animal rights activists and has a special love for elephants. She has won the Humane Society’s Wyler Award of 2010 for her special work with these gentle beasts. Also, she is a contributor to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust that works for animals including animals in Africa. At present, her net worth is believed to be near $60 million.
