Born in June 1996, Kodi Smit-McPhee, an Australian actor, is popularly known for the role he played in The Road as The Boy. Kodi’s parents are Andy McPhee and Sonja. He is claimed to derive much of his inspiration from his family since his father is a former professional wrestler and an actor. His sister, Sianoa Smit-McPhee, is a singer and an actress. Personal Life

Kodi is a professional actor hailing from Adelaide, South Australia and has been active in the television industry since 2005, when he was just 19 years. Kodi’s name gradually grew popular, and it was his role as the Boy that was his major breakthrough in the movie The Road. As aforementioned above, Kodi’s father, Sonja was a professional wrestler and an actor as well. His mother, however, was a banker with his sibling, being an actress.

Kodi’s performance started with his debut casting in the film dubbed Romulus, My Father, which marked his first feature in a film in the entertainment industry. In 2007, Kodi was honored with the nominations of the Best Actor by the Australian Film Institute Award (AFI). He received the Best Young Actor. Career

Kodi Smit ventured into the entertainment industry professionally with his debut feature in the film Romulus, My Father. This film saw him garner the Best Actor nomination along an AFI Award. Kodi’s career is marked by a series of nominations and awards which goes a long way in proving his competency and good mastery of his art. For instance, in 2009, his appearance in The Road was a proof of his acting prowess as it saw him receive a Best International Actor award courtesy of the AFI.

Smit then lent his voice in ParaNorman as the film’s lead role. During the 2013 Academy Awards, the film received a nomination for the Best Animated Feature as well as a nomination for the Best Animated Film in the 2013 BAFTA Award. Later that year, Kodi featured on Dead Europe, a movie that was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2012. Also, he was the star in A Birder’s Guide to Everything, a film that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2013.
