Kendu Isaacs is the ex-manager and the ex-husband of R&B singer, model, and actress Mary J. Blige. Kendu and Mary have been married since December 2003, and he has supported and touted her wife’s career for the last 13 years.
By the time they meet, Kendra already had three children from her first wife (Nas, Jordan, and Briana), and the couple took the kids under their roof. Mary filed for divorce on July 2016 citing “irreconcilable differences,” and the couple is currently going through the divorce. They had no sons together.
There is not much data about Isaacs on the web or on the media as he is only known as the former husband of Blige. The divorce
Entertainment show TMZ says it is not clear when Blige and Isaacs split up. They were last seen together at the 2016 Vanity Fair Oscars Party on February. The divorce documents show that Mary J Blige did not sign a prenuptial agreement, and her current net worth is about $10 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
On October 2016, TMZ reported that Isaacs was filling for a monthly spousal support fee of $129,319 from Blige, even though they have no sons. Isaacs claims her ex-wife earned between $1.5 million and $5.1 million in the past two years, and that he, as his ex-manager, had much to do with her success.
The relationship
Mary J. Blige and Kendu Isaacs met in 2002 and became husband and wife on December 7, 2003, when Blige was 32 and Isaacs 36. The ceremony was at her home in Bergen County, N.J., whit only 50 guests, none of them celebrities.
They were a seemingly happy couple for about 10 years. However, on 2012 it became public that there were heavy fights behind closed doors, and that Blige was accusing Isaacs of cheating with Mary’s label mate, Starshell.
Meanwhile, Kendu had an odd relationship with her eldest daughter, Briana Latrise. She even declared herself homeless on 2013 while she was also pregnant, and that her parents were no help. Briana has not yet finished her college education, and she’s been living her life away from the media.
Financial problems
Lastly, the media reported that the couples went through several financial problems during their time together. Between 2013 and 2014 Mary J Blige was on a career low point and her net worth went from $45 million to the current value.
On December 2014, New Jersey filed a $901,769 tax lien against the singer, and a few months later the couple received a $2.2 million sue because they failed to repay a loan from a bank. Mary J. Blige was also facing copyright infringement lawsuits that claimed $1 million a year from the Blige-Isaacs marriage.
