Jonathan Watton started his career in 1999 playing Grayson in episode 1 of a Canadian television show that first aired on the PAX TV network Little Men. In a year Watton got a role on The Crossing, a 2000 historical TV film about George Washington crossing the Delaware River and the Battle of Trenton, directed by Robert Harmon. Based on the novel of the same name by Howard Fast.

Darcy appears several times in the later episodes and makes his final appearance in Crime and Punishment when he is shot through the head and killed by James Gillies. Julia is framed for the murder. With the help of Station House 4, Dr. Grace and even Giles, Murdoch saves her.
