Jo Koy

Joseph Glenn Herbert, popularly known as Jo Koy, came to life on June 2nd, 1971 in Tacoma, Washington in US. Jo is known for his standup comedy skills. Jo was born to his father who was in Air Force and was a pilot, and his mother, who has been a guide to Jo since his birth. Jo attributes his comedy skills to his mom who gave him the inspiration to participate in various stage shows and start his career as a standup comedian. Jo attended his first high school in ‘Spanaway Lake High School’ and later on shifted to ‘Foss High School’. Jo joined ‘University of Nevada’ for his graduation. He started participating in various Standup comedy shows during his graduation and later dropped out from college to pursue his career in acting and standup comedy. Jo married in the past to his then girlfriend but separated later on from her because of some rift. Jo has a son from his past wife, whom he takes care of himself. Jo never takes the name of his past wife in public and has never disclosed her identity.

Jo started his career participating in many standup comedy shows during his high school and graduation. Jo later on after dropping out from graduation, started performing in a club, wherein he did not gain much popularity. Later on Jo joined a casino named ‘MGM Grand Hotel and Casino’ and started performing in a regular show there named ‘Catch a Rising Star’. He gained much popularity doing the show. Jo later joined a theatre and started performing there, however had a tough time selling his tickets by himself. From here, Jo got his first opportunity in a TV show named ‘Comic View’ which was aired for 2 seasons. Jo’s role was much appreciated in the series and on the basis of that, Jo acted in many other comedy TV series like ‘Jamie Foxx Presents: Laffapalooza!’, ‘Tru TV's World's Dumbest’ and ‘New Millennium’. Jo also won awards like Gemini award for his performance in a TV show and he also went on to win a prestigious competition in US. Jo however, got the biggest appreciation of his lifetime when he appeared in the series ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’. His performance was much appreciated in the show and later on he got many offers because of this performance. Jo has also been associated for social work and performed in the special show for the NGO ‘Hilarity For Charity’ wherein the amount collected from the tickets sold were donated to a Children Hospital. Jo also came with his debut album named ‘Light Out at Night’ and sold many copies of the album and the album was an instant hit.

Jo has earned a lot of money on the basis of his stand up performances and his total net worth is close to $1.5 Million and this is projected to increase manifold in the future considering his continuing involvement in various projects on TV and in various clubs.
