Jerry Angelo Brooks was born at Plymouth, North Carolina on December 16, 1965 but was brought up in Mount Vermon in New York when he shifted from Plymouth at the age of 3 with his parents. His two brother’s name is Floyd brooks and Terrence Brooks. Smoove’s mother Elizabeth had five sisters and four brothers who lived in Plymouth. He refers meeting his extended family as a talkative gathering. He first shifted to Levister Towers housing projects when shifted to Mount Vermon. Floyd Brooks, his dad worked as an installer in a lighting company who died when Smoove was 15 due to diabetes.
