Jay was born in a place called Montebello, California. His father’s name was Javier Hernandez Sr. who worked as a mechanic. His mother’s name was Isis who was an accountant and secretary. He also has two older brothers and a younger sister. He did his primary schooling from Don Bosco Technical Institute in Rosemaid, California. Later, the actor shifted to Schurr High School in Montebello. He got his first break by chance when he met talent manager Howard Tyner while he was in an elevator in a high rise building. This happened in 1998 when Jay Hernandez was just 20 years old. This series ran from 1998 to 2000 and since then he has acted in around twelve such titles and the last one was in the year 2016 and the name of the title was Scandal in which he donned the role of Curtis Pyrce.
As far as the big screen is concerned, Jay made his debut in the year 2000 with the film Living the Life in which he was given the role of Kikicho. This set him up nicely for the big league and since then he has acted in twenty seven titles with the last one being Bright which was released in the year 2017.
