Since his father was a music teacher, Simmons also had his interest in music. He always participated in any cultural or curricular activities arranged by his school. He received his early education from Thomas Worthington High School. Simmons always knew that music and acting would take him to the heights he dreamt of. The actor got his degree in music from the University of Montana. During his college days, he was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia which is a group of men with a special interest in music.
