Guy Pearce was born in the year 1967 on October 5th. He grew up in Cambridgeshire, in the United States. Both his parents belonged from prestigious professions. His father, Stuart Pearce worked in the aircraft department of the Australian government and his mother, Anne Pearce was a school teacher. His mother specialised in the subject Home Economics and also knew needle work. His father also held a position of the test pilot in the department. Later, his father was transferred to Australian Government Aircraft Factories in Victoria. His father was offered the position of Chief Test Pilot and his mother took a job at the Matthew Founders Girls High School.
When he was only eight years, his father met an accident at the Avalon Airport and passed away. He was emotionally moved by this incident and could not get out of the depression for a long time. It took him a long time to recover from the situation. His mother had to take care of him after the sudden demise of his father. He went to the private school known as Geelong College.
He had a great interest towards Dramatic Arts from his early childhood days. He was an active member of the Geelong Society of Dramatic Arts in the junior group. Besides, he was also very conscious about body fitness and grew up to be a popular bodybuilder. He came to be known as Mr. Victoria for his bodybuilding skills at the young age of sixteen. After completing his high school education, he participated in theatre drama of Australia, known as Neighbours.
At the young age of 17 years, while he was still doing theatres, he got the chance to appear in the film Life and Study at University. This was a great opportunity for him and he also received a lot of recognition for his role. After completing his education, he devoted himself to the television industry completely. He played the role of Mike Young in the soap opera Neighbours for a long time.
Along with that, he also made appearances in the television series such as Snowy River: The McGregor Saga in the year 1993 and Home and Away in the year 1988. After appearing in a series of television series, he made major appearances in the films like Flynn, Heaven Tonight, Hunting which fetched him the chance to appear in the Cannes Film Festival. He has also achieved popularity for his music videos such as Before I Fall to Pieces and Across the Night. As far as his personal life is concerned, he was married to his childhood girlfriend Kate Mestitz but the couple got divorced after 18 years of their marriage. He is now engaged to his girlfriend Carice Van Houten and couple was also blessed with a son.
