Born on 23rd May 1958, Drew is a comedian, host and actor. Drew is famous for hosting a show named The Drew Carey Show. He has served U.S Marine and also is well known stand-up comedian. He also hosted the show The Price is Right on CBS in the year 2007.


Personal Life

Drew was born to Lewis and Beulah Carey in Cleveland, Ohio. He is the youngest child of the couple. Drew has two elder brothers. His start sign is Taurus. He went to James Ford Rhodes High School and he graduated in the year 1975. In school time, he was involved in Marching band and which he was highly interested in. Drew was really depressed in her childhood after his dad passed away when he was eight years old. He even tried to commit suicide, twice. He was in relationship with Nicole Jaracz, but the couple didn’t get married. They have a son named Connor. Nicole and Connor have appeared in the show The Price is Right few Times. Drew has two homes in Los Angeles and New York, where he resides.

Career

After he left U.S marine, he started to do stand-up comedy. He started to write jokes for David Lawrence for his show. He also started performing in comedy clubs in Cleveland and Los Angeles. He won an open microphone contest. While doing standup comedy, he appeared in The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in 1991. His performance in the show was amazing and this led to Drew’s appearance in many shows as well.

Drew’s performance as standup comedian gave him TV shows opportunities. He appeared in The Good Life with John Caponera. He then became consultant for Bruce Helford for his show Someone Like Me and helped the show to be a success. Later Helford and Drew worked on another project named The Drew Carey Show. The show got huge success and over nine years, 233 episodes were aired. By the final season Drew’s salary was $750000 per episode. Along with this, Drew also stared hosting ‘Whose Line is it Anyway’. His work in both shows was exceptional. He was one of the highest paid entertainers in 1998, according to the Forbes List.

He later hosted a game show ‘Power of 10’. The show aired twice a week from 7th Aug 2007 to 7th April 2008.  He also replaced Baker in the show ‘The Price is Right’, which was initially offered to Drew. Drew’s first episode as host aired on 15th Oct 2007. He does little innovative stuff to make the show interesting.

Drew also published his autobiography, ‘Dirty Jokes and Beer: Stories of Unrefined’. He wrote about his childhood and his life and the book became best seller in The New York Times for 3 months.
