Don Orsillo

Don Orsillo was born in the year 1969 and he is sport commentator who announces for San Diego Padres at Fox Sports San Diego. He was a television voice of Boston Red Sox at NESN since 2001 until 2015. He got hired by San Diego Padres so that he can replace broadcasting Legend called Dick Enberg after his retirement after 2016 Season.


Don Orsillo was born in the city of Melrose in Massachusetts and he dreamed on becoming a broadcaster for the Red Sox as a young boy. He moved and then grew up in the city of Madison in New Hampshire. He studied at John H Fuller Elementary School. When he reached at 12 years old, he attended the Kennett Junior High School in Conway. His family decided to move to the West when he was about to enter into a high school. He then graduated in the year 1987in the School of Miraleste High School at Rancho Palos Verdes of California. There, he played at Marauder Basketball and in the baseball team. He graduated with Northeastern University and there he got a degree of communication studies. When he was at the University, he interned with Red Sox Radio voice called Joe Castiglione.

Before joining the games with Major League Baseball, he worked in the minor league and he announced games of Pawtucket Red Sox and it was since 1996 until 2000. He had done the games for New York Mets as minor league affiliates. He started at Pittsfield Mets for the New York Penn League of 1991 until 1992 season. He then moved in the organization.

Don Orsillo started to call for NESN since 2001 season and the first game included no hitter thrown by the Red Sox Pitcher called Hideo Nomo that played against Baltimore Orioles. He called also the final game of Cal Ripken and it was a no hitter thrown from Derek Lowe in the year 2002.

At the beginning, he was calling only for the games that aired at NESN together with Sean McDonough, a long time announcer of Red Sox. During the 2005 season, he did the games which aired at WSBK and NESN where he was working together with Remy. This changed in the season that followed and this is the time that NESN started to air for the Local Telecasts of Red Sox.

Don Orsillo is now living in the city of Coronado in California together with Kathy Maguire Orsillo, his wife. They got married in 2017. He had a divorce before and he is a father of two daughter, called Madison and Sydney.

According to his biography, he left Boston Red Sox after calling there for 15 years. However, he agreed that he was not expecting to be dismissed but he was also ready to start another chapter of his life. His salary and net worth were not disclosed. His twitter account is @DonOrsillo.
