Dan Fouts was born in the year 1951 on June 10th in California. He was born in a well-to-do family and was the only child of his parents. He was sent to the Marin Catholic High School. He had developed the interest of playing football from his father. His father gave him the initial training of playing football.
He even joined a professional team in California to take better training from a very early age. He even took part in the football team of his high school. He performed so well that his coach even sent to the state level from his school to attend several football matches. He also received a fellowship from his school due to his excellent performances in many of the matches. After graduation, he pursued his further career with sports.
In the year 1973, he joined the Chargers for the playoff rounds. He joined the team in the third round. He delivered excellent performances from the year 1979 to 1982. He presented such a notable performance that in the year 1993, he was awarded with the honour of Pro Football Hall of Fame. His appearance in some of the popular matches helped him to gain popularity. He was counted as the first ever NFL player to have surpassed four thousands yards only in three next to next seasons. By the 1981 season, he had accomplished four thousands eight hundred and two yards which was the highest of the season.
He broke several records of the famous professionals in the year 1967 when he appeared for the American Football League. But next, his record was broken by Dan Marino who accomplished five thousand and eighty four yards. He even won the Chargers their first AFC champion trophy. The team reached its peak with an average of 320 yards. He also appeared in the All-Pro Selections in the year 1979 and All-AFC in the year 1981. However, he faced a major injury during the All-Pro Selections match due to which Chargers lost it. During the AFC season, he could not bring Chargers the championship trophy.
He had to take a break from the several leagues due to his major injuries. He could not lift his left leg properly and his back problem affected his career badly. Moreover, the loss Chargers had to face because of his performance was depressing him. There were also many controversies going on in the media which affected his emotional self more. But he fought back everything and had done a major comeback in the team. He took part in the consecutive seasons and Chargers won the league with his help. In an interview he has mentioned that, that was the best day of his life as he was able to recover his team from the loss the team had to face because of him.
