Born on August 25, 1964, to father Frank Eugene Underwood and mother Marilyn Ann Scales in Tacoma, Washington, Blair Erwin Underwood spent most of his childhood days on the Army bases around the United States and Stuttgart situated in Germany. Blair completed his schooling from the Petersburg High School situated in Petersburg, Virginia. His interest in acting was ignited at a very young age, and he went on to Carnegie Mellon School of Drama situated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to get training in acting. Blair’s father and mother had quite different profession from each other. His mom worked as an interior decorator, and his father was a United States Army Colonel. After graduating from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, Blair shifted to New York to pursue his acting career. He got his first break when he was cast for the role of Russell Walker in the 1985 movie Krush Groove. In the same year, he appeared in three television series which includes Knight Rider as Potts, The Cosby Show as Robert and One Life to Live as Booby Blue. His most famous role until now has been in the 1987 show L.A. Law where he played the role of Jonathan Rollins. His roles in the television series Dirty Sexy Money where he played the role of Simon Elder in 2007 and In Treatment where he played the role of Alex in 2008. He has done several television series in his three-decade-long career. He has done many shows which includes Downtown as Terry Corsaro in 1986, 21 Jump Street as Reginald Brooks in 1987, City of Angels as Dr. Ben Turner in 2000, Sex and the City as Dr. Robert Leeds in 2003, The New Adventure of Old Christine as Mr. Harris in 2006, Ironside as Robert Ironside in 2013, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Andrew Garner in 2015 and The Good Wife as Harry Dargis in 2016.
According to his bio, he has been the recipient of three NAACP Image Awards and one Grammy Awards. He has also been nominated for many awards which include Golden Globe Awards.
He got married to Desiree DaCosta on September 17, 1994. The couple has been married for 22 years, and there has been no news about any issues between them.
