Peri Gilpin was born as Peri Kay Oldham on the twenty-seventh of May, 1961 in Waco, Texas, United States of America. Her parents, James Franklin Oldham and Sandra Jo Hauck, were happy to welcome their daughter. His father is better known as Jim O'Brien and he is a famous reporter and a newscaster. As to the siblings, she has a sister, Patti Oldham Wynne.

While being a child, Peri attended the local school in Dallas and grew up an ordinary girl. She was also interested in acting career and had a dream to become an actress in the future. Therefore, she took lessons at Dallas Theater Center. During the formative years, she was the student at the University of Texas at Austin and the British-American Academy in London. She practiced day by day and improved her skills a lot.Her first appearance on TV occurred when she got the role of Holly Matheson in “Cheers”.
For the next eleven years, Peri took part as Roz Doyle in the continuation of “Cheers”, the program called“Frasier”.For this participation, she got a huge success. Gilpin also became the winner of Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. At the age of forty-eight, Peri was seen in the ABC Family drama “Make It or Break It”. The show got many approvals and positive reviews.
