Parker Christian Posey, an American musician and actress, came into the lime light in the 1990s following her debut appearance in the movie Dazed and Confused, as illustrated in her IMDB profile. This was then followed by a myriad of other role-plays in different independent films including Blade: Trinity and Laws of Attraction.

Personal Life

Born in 1968 in Maryland, Parker Posey and her sibling Christopher Posey were raised as Catholics. Parker is the daughter of a chef by the name Lynda Patton and Chris Posey, a car dealer – Chris Posey Chevrolet. Posey was named after a certain model (Suzy Parker) as a tribute. After her birth, Posey’s family shifted its locality to Monroe, Louisiana and lived there for 11 years. Due to her mother’s occupation – a culinary instructor at Viking Range Corporation and a chef – the family relocated once more to live in Laurel, Mississippi.

Parker’s relationship status remains anonymous. However, there are speculations of her being secretly pregnant and married. Due to her hate of being pulled in gossip, Parker opts to maintain privacy and remain discreet in regards to her current personal life. This way, she avoids being discussed publicly. At the past, she was rumored to have dated Keanu Reeve; however, there is no record of her being married.

Career

Parker came into the public eye in the 1990s and was nicknamed “Queen of the Indies”. Her net worth is about $10 million. Apart from playing a role in Dazed and Confused, Parker has made a myriad of appearance in different independent films including Party Girl and The House of Yes. She later took on improvisational roles in For Your Consideration, A Mighty Wind and Best in Show. Posey’s other film appearance are You’ve Got Mail, Superman Returns, Scream 3, Café Society and Irrational Man.

Besides film appearances, Posey has guest-starred on a number of television series including Search Party, Louie, The Good Wife, Boston Legal and Will & Grace. When asked about her acting preference and options, Parker made remarks that hit most of her audience members with awe. According to her, the truth that she is an indie queen does not deduce that the same comes with it all these choices, as if she sits around in anticipation of a great indie film-casting opportunity to knock at her door. Rather, like anyone else, she too encounters the typical frustrations associated with the casting crew selection.

Parker revealed that before casting in the Irrational Man film, she had considered the option of quitting acting citing “the escape of the movement of independent films from my grasp” as the reason behind her consideration. In her words, the movement has become a world market with much concentration being placed on the actors who are presumably “hot at the moment”. Parker’s first stage appearance was in 2001 when she had just learned to play the mandolin in the preparations of her debut appearance in A Mighty Wind – she sang and acted in this film. She provided vocals for Ryan Adams records as well as played the mandolin on the track “I Am Sound”.
