“Orange Is the New Black” actress Natasha Lyonne was born on April 4, 1979 in New York City, a major metropolis in the United States. Her parents are Aaron Braunstein and Yvette Braunstein. She has a brother named Adam Braunstein. She lived with her family in Israel before moving to states after the divorce of her parents. Her mother admitted her into the “Ford Modeling Agency” when she was only at the age of six.


Natasha was already living on her own by the age of 16. At the age of 17, she dropped out of NYU’s Tisch School. After that, she bought her apartment and penthouse in Manhattan’s Gramercy Park.

Career

Natasha started her acting career at a very young age. As a child actor, she got involved in Nora Ephron’s “Heartburn,” and after that, she got to play as Opal in “Pee-wee’s Playhouse.” At a very young age, the American actress, Natasha tasted fame. She stated in interviews about her early career, “It instilled in me a real revulsion to fame because I was so confused and perplexed by why a parent would to that to a child.”

Working as a child actor, she was eventually going to be a leading actress. She played the lead role of DJ in the musical of Woody Allen “Everyone says I love you”. The film also starred Alan Alda, Drew Barrymore Goldie Hawn, and Julia Roberts which was a big movie for her teenage years.

Young Natasha was in the spotlight, and the fame which made her vulnerable and she eventually fell into the trap of drugs. She got a role in an indie comedy in the year 1998 which helped the actress to bolster her career. Later in the year 1999, the actress co-starred in “American Pie”, a popular film that earned over $235 million around the globe, and she even played a role in the two sequels of the movie.

In the year 1999, she appeared in “But I’m a Cheerleader” in which she played the role of a lesbian and in 2001, she got a role in “Scary Movie 2.” She continued getting films, and in 2003, she played a role in “Party Monster” and “Die! Mommie, Die!” She also appeared in “Blade: Trinity” in 2004.

In 2016, she appeared in “The Intervention,” “Yoga Hosers,” “Antibirth” and “Jack Goes Home.

Personal Life

She was charged for a drinking and driving case in the year 2001. She again got arrested for harassing her neighbor in December 2004. In the year 2006, she was kept under rehabilitation for drug and alcohol. The days turned harder for Natasha, and she had been hospitalized in 2012 for an open heart surgery procedure. The actress had to go through the surgery because of the damage that was done to her heart by the infection. During this phase in her life, she was in chronic pain due to the surgery but the actress made out of the most difficult situation in her life.

She is dating Fred Armisen, and soon they plan to be husband and wife.
