Mayanti Langer

Mayanti Langer, born on 8th February 1985, has been a journalist of India. She has been associated mainly with the network of Star Sports. She has played host to several tournaments such as FIFA World Cup on ESPN in 2010, Football Café on Zee Sports, Common Wealth Games 2010, Cricket World Cup 2011, ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, Indian Super League 2014, and Indian Premier League 2018. Mayanti is one of the leading female journalists in sports in India.


Personal Life

Mayanti Langer took birth in Delhi City in India to her mother Preminda Langer and father Sanjiv Langer. Her grandparents are Priyo Batra and Lt. General Rajinder Nath Batra. Mayanti spent her early life mostly in the USA. Her upbringing has been in a strict and disciplined atmosphere due to her grandfather being a Lt. General in the Army, and her mother a prominent teacher in a school. Mayanti’s father Sanjiv Langer had been associated with the United Nations (UN). Mayanti did her graduation from Hindu College in the University of Delhi. Mayanti, due to her belonging to an army man’s family, was very much interested in sports activities.

During her childhood, she was interested in playing football, and played the sport up to the school level. She also got training in football at the Super Soccer Academy in Delhi. Later, she envisioned to become a Graphic Designer. However, when she got a chance to anchor the “FIFA Beach Football”, Mayanti came to the conclusion that her future in career lies with sports as an anchor.

Mayanti is a married woman. For the first time, she met her husband Stuart Binny, the son of famous cricketer Roger Binny, at a sports event in 2012. They dated each other for around six months before tying the knot during that very year. Mayanti is older than her husband Stuart Binny by four months. They are leading a happy married life since then, and there is no any rumor of any kind doing the rounds about any sourness in their relationship. She has not yet divorced her husband as yet.

Career

Mayanti had initially been interested in football. Later, she wished to be a Graphic Designer. However, her destiny in career lied in anchoring sports event. She started her career in anchoring by becoming a guest anchor in a beach football of FIFA. After this, she acted as an associate producer and host on Zee Sports for Football Café.

Mayanti worked as anchor for numerous sports events on Zee Sports. Mayanti covered Nehru Cup Football, and Indian Cricket League. She has hosted FIFA World Cup 2010, and Commonwealth Games 2010 with Charu Sharma. She also hosted Cricket World Cup 2011. She played host to the test series between South Africa and India in 2013 on Ten Sports.

Mayanti anchored Indian Super League and Champions League Cricket in 2014, and played host to World Cup Cricket in 2015 on Star Sports. There is no record she has won any awards or not. As per her biography, her net worth is not known.
