Loewy Malkovich is known as the son of the popular and famous actor, John Malkovich. His father is also admired for his work as a director and producer.


Father’s Background

Loewy’s father John was born on December 9, 1953 in Christopher, Illinois. His parents were Daniel Leon Malkovich and Joe Anne. His father was a director of state conservation. Malkovich has four siblings which include three sisters and one brother who is older than him.

From an early age, he showed keen interest in stage plays and singing. He studied professional theatre at Illinois State University.

Father’ Career

John’s first breakthrough came in 1972 when he was featured in the comedy project American Hurrah by Jean Claude Van Itallie. John is fluent in French and has extensively worked in French plays for 10 years.

From 1976 and onwards, Malkovich was involved in active stage theatre. He joined Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre Company. This is where he met his first wife Glenne Headley. He was an extra in the first movie he acted in 1978 which was the movie A Wedding directed by Robert Altman. He received the prestigious Emmy Award in 1985 for the television adaptation of the play Death of a Salesman for his role as Biff. He was nominated for the Academy Award for his first movie, Places in the Heart in the category of Best Supporting Actor.

He worked in all time classic movies such as The Killing Fields, Empire of the Sun and The Glass Menagerie. His rise to fame was when he played the role of Valmont in the movie Dangerous Liaisons in 1988. He was again nominated for the Academy Awards in the category of Best Supporting Actor for his role in the movie In the Line of Fire in 1994. Apart from his acting commitments in movies, John regularly kept himself engaged with theatricals and songs. He acted in a number of Hollywood box office hits such as RED, RED 2, Beowulf, The Man in the Iron Mask Eragon, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Father’s Personal Life

John was married to Glenne Headley from 1982 to 1988. He divorced her as he was rumored to be romantically involved with actress Michelle Pfeiffer. In 1989, he married Nicoletta Peytran. He has two kids with Peytran. His daughter Amandine is no longer living and the couple is survived by their son Lowey Malkovich.

Apart from his interest in theatre and movies, he has his own restaurant in Lisbon called Bica do Sapato. He also has his own clothing line called Technobohemian. Although he claims himself to be apolitical many claim his views on politics to be extreme right wing. He is also an atheist. He is a critic of the Israeli Military action in Palestine. Malkovich’s humane side came to the forefront when he rescued a man from dying of his own injuries and rushing him to a hospital. Malkovich likes to keep his life private and he uses different aliases while travelling. His current net worth is 65 million dollars.
