Personal Life
Born on 23 April 1949 in Hazlehurst, Mississippi USA. Her Parents are Robert Ephriam and Mable Ephriam along with two siblings: one sister named Mae Stewart and the Brother named Frank Ephriam. Mablean has an average height of about 5 feet 6 inches.
She was once married to a woman during her teenage years and was married in 1962 with her childhood friend to when she was only thirteen to Cassius Paxton but unfortunately ended in a divorce in 1981 after 20 years of marriage. She had a daughter with Cassius named Tajamika Paxton, born in February of 1972 who is now known as a writer, director and a media producer.
Mablean received her Degree from Whittier Law School in 1978 and still although she has African American ethnicity she also holds an American Nationality. As a judge, her first name is pronounced ‘may-blene’ as in the song ‘maybellene’ by Chuck Berry. In 2015, she was ranked number 5 in the ‘Top 10 Richest African American Lawyers’ by the richlifestyle.com. Mablean runs the H.U.F Awards which is an annual event held every father’s day to celebrate the achievements of everyday fathers and for showing gratefulness towards fathers.
Career
If we want to talk about her career, Mablean started her career firstly by working as a correctional officer in federal bureau of prisons in the ‘ Women’s Division’. After that, she started her own law firm in 1982 and started gaining her popularity among the public.
She came to be a prosecuting attorney in LA and a few years later she was working as a judge in ‘ Divorce Court’ from 1999-2000, divorce court is an American court show that allows disputes between married couples to be resolved.It was premiered in September 1999 consisting of 36 seasons and having 5767 episodes. Lynn Toler took her place in the show. Ephriam was back on television in 2014 but in a new courtroom called Justice with Judge Mablean. This series was produced by Entertainment Studios which will be the 5th series from Entertainment Studios.
She is well known as Madea’s court Judge and she also portrays a strict and stern judge character. She presides cases with violence, destructive conducts, etc. She did make a small appearance in a film adaptation of a play known as Diary of a Mad Black Woman. She also made an appearance on the first season of ‘ Celebrity Fit Club’ and she also lost 25 pounds while she participated in the show.
She owns several expensive cars, and she is also favoured being known as an owner of The Mablean Ephraim Foundation which she also defined it as a non-profit, tax-exempt California Organisation. The motto of the foundation is healthy families, intelligent minds, and economic power overall better community.
