KRS one (Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone) is an American rapper and occasionally a producer from the Bronx, New York City, New York.

Personal Life
Born on August 20, 1965, KRS one or his name Lawrence Kris Parker is an American rapper and a producer from New York City, he has also been a prominent activist for various causes. He was raised by his single mother. His mother is of Jamaican descent.
When he was 14 years old he left home to become an MC and lived in a homeless shelter in South Bronx, New York. As a part of a movement, he founded the temple of hip-hop, a ministry, a school and society in support of hip-hop for a political movement. At adulthood, his height was measured to be 6 feet 4 inches.His first marriage was towards His fellow musician Ms Melodie for about five years but ended in a divorce, and later was married to current spouse Simone Parker. Tragically, his son Randy committed suicide in 2007.
Career
He began his career in 1981, KRS one began his career in a hip-hop group in boogie down Productions, with DJ Scott La Rock and Derrick Jones. Later after being rejected by DJ Mr Magic and another DJ Marley Marl, he created a diss track known as ‘ The Bridge Wars’. Soon after he released five albums under the name ‘ Boogie Down Productions’ He decided to take out on his own. His first solo album was released in 1993 called ‘ Return of the boom bap’, he worked with producers like DJ Premier, showbiz and Kid Capri.
His second album came out in 1995 in which one song criticized Black Civil Rights Activist ‘Delores Tucker’ and in his other songs, he featured rappers like Fat Joe, Busta Rhymes, Mad lion and Das EFX. In 1997, he again released an album ‘ I Got Next’ its lead single ‘Step into a world’ a remix of a genre like punk and new wave group Blondie was accompanied by rapper Puff daddy. The other song was mainly a rock song. The record was his best selling solo album which was featured on the Billboard 200 has the 3rd spot.
Then Parker was also positioned as the Vice President of A&R at Reprise Records. He resigned from this Position on 2001 and he returned to recording and released albums in the same year ‘ The sneak attack’ in the upcoming year he released a gospel album called Spiritual Minded, which caused surprises among his fans as he had once referred Christianity as a ‘ slavemaster religion’.
At these time he founded the Temple of Hip Hop which was an organisation to promote hip-hop culture. KRS one was once featured in Nike commercials as the voice of Chris Cringle in Nike most valuable puppet commercials. He was also featured in a title song for a movie ‘ You Got Served: Beat the world’. Parker’s net worth is estimated to be around $6 million as of 2017-2018.
