Josh Duhamel was born in the year 1972 on November 14. He grew up in Minot, North Dakota. He belonged from a middle class family background. His father, Larry was in advertising and his mother, Bonnie L. Kemper was a successful businesswoman as well as a retired school teacher. He has a mixed ancestry of Irish, Norwegian, French-Canadian, German and English though he has received a Catholic upbringing as a child.
He had three younger sisters and when he was only seven years old, his parents got divorced. He had to stay with his mother and sisters but he also stayed in touch with his father. The divorce of his parents affected him a lot as he always wanted to stay with his family. He went to the Minot State University and was a very brilliant student. He was an active member in the football team of his university where he played as the quarterback.
Though his family wanted him to pursue a medical career as a dentist but he was dropped out of the school as his grades were too low. He told his family that he wanted to pursue a career in the glamour industry though later, in the year 2005, he completed his bachelor's degree from the Minot State University. During this time, he got into a serious relationship and almost gave up on his passion. He followed his girlfriend to California to settle and even did a number of part time jobs which did not go with his career expectations at all. The relationship ended within some years and he came back to his hometown to follow his passion.
He began his career in the glamour industry as an extra in Donna Summer’s music videos in the year 1999. He took training at the Scott Sedita Acting Studios and appeared in the soap opera series of ABC, All My Children as Leo du Pres. He has secured a lot of popularity and appreciations for this major role. Besides acting, he has also flourished as a model.
He posed for several magazine issues and has even appeared fully nude before the lens for the photography book “As I See It by Greg Gorman. He has received many nominations for his notable supporting roles. He was also approached by NBC for their primetime show, Las Vegas where he imparted the role of the head of the security, Danny McCoy. The turning point in his career came when he was starred in the film Win A Date with Tad Hamilton in the year 2004.
Steven Spielberg was very impressed with his acting in Las Vegas and wanted to cast him in the film Transformers where he played the role of Captain William Lennox. He imparted the role so well that he was given the chance to appear in the three sequels of Transformers in the year 2009, 2011 and 2017. In the year 2009, he married Stacy Ann Ferguson, a famous singer. The couple was blessed with a son, named Axl Jack Duhamel in the year 2013. In the year 2014, the couple got separated due to some personal reasons.
