José Altuve

Jose Altuve, born as Jose Carlos Altuve on 6th May 1990, has been a baseball player of Venezuela. He is presently playing as the second baseman for Houston Astros under the Major League Baseball (MLB). The Astros had initially drafted Altuve as a free agent on 6th March 2007. He joined the Major League on 20th July 2011. He is a right-handed thrower and batter, and the shortest MLB player presently.


Personal Life

Jose Altuve took birth in Maracay, Venezuela, to father Carlos Altuve and mother Latina Linares. Much is not on record about his early life and education. There is no information available on record about his family background and siblings. However, he is a Venezuelan by nationality.

Jose Altuve is a married man. He married Nina Altuve who had been his girlfriend for several years. They came in contact with each other when Altuve had been just 16 years old, and they celebrated the 11th year of their togetherness in November 2017. Nina, his wife, has been a bioanalyst, and is a Venezuelan, too. She has studied at the University of Carabobo and has obtained a degree from there. Jose Altuve and Nina Altuve married on 14th June 2016 at Maracay, Venezuela, in the presence of family members and friends. They have been blessed with a female child on 31st October 2017 who has been named Melanie Andrea Altuve. Jose Altuve is leading a happy married life with wife and daughter, and he has not divorced his wife as yet.

Career

Jose Altuve has an outstanding career so far, and has achieved a lot in terms of name, fame, and awards. He joined Houston Astros at the age of 16, and impressed one and all. He had had an outstanding season 2007 and shifted to the USA in the year 2008. Jose Altuve hit .284 in only forty games while playing for Greeneville Astros during the Rookie-level Appalachian League. His run for success continued unabated in subsequent years.

He was promoted to MLB by the Houston Astros on 19th July 2011. He was a member of the team Astros that participated in the All-Star Futures Game 2011. Due to his outstanding performances, Jose Altuve was declared as the second baseman of the 2011 Minor League All-Star Team of Baseball America. After that, he was drafted by the club under a 4-year contract for $12.5 million extension on 13th July 2013 that had two club options for the years 2018 and 2019.
