Gareth Southgate

Gareth Southgate was a footballer but had retired and played for Middleburgh and for England National team in the year 1995 up to 2004. He also played for Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

From his bio, Gareth Southgate was born in the city of Watford in England. It was in 1970. His age is 48 now. His mother is Barbara Southgate and his father is Clive Southgate. He is of English nationality and he is of Caucasian Ethnicity. He became interested into football from the time he was still a child and had dreamed to be a popular footballer someday. He started to play football at Crystal Palace where he was playing on their right-back and in central midfield. He attended Hazelwick School.

Career

After playing for sometime in the youth team of Crystal Palace, he joined the team. He stayed on the team since 1988 up to 1995. He played over 152 league matches and he scored 15 goals. In the year 1995, he decided to join Aston Villa and here he signed the contract for the fee of 3.33 million. While at the club, he got converted in the center back and became the best defense. While on the Aston, he had formidable results and lifted the team to reach to the League Cup and it reached to the UEFA cup. In the year 1998-99 seasons, he did not miss any game in the Premier League game. He appeared in 192 league games and he scored over 7 goals for this club before he was able to move to play for Middleborough since 2001.

When he joined the club, he became the favorite winning player of the club and he got named as the Player of the Year Award in the series since he displayed skills and did not get any yellow card. Since 2002 up to 2003, he was first captain to win the League Cap while at Millennium Stadium with the team. In his 5 years at this club, Southgate made up to 160 League appearances and made 4 goals. Southgate played the last match before retirement in 2006 when they played Versus Sevilla in the UEFA Cup Final.

International career and Net worth

In the year 1995, Southgate got called for the first time to join England national football team and was playing against Portugal. He started his international career like a substitute. He became the member for the national team while playing in 1998 FIFA World Cup and for the Euro 2000. On the international level, he made his first goal in the year 2003 while playing against South Africa.  He has a net worth of 12 million dollars.

Married, wife

He is married to Alison Bird since 1997 and the two have two kids. He got appointed like Officer of The order of British Empire. He went to Pound Hill Junior School and then to Hazelwick School. His entire outfit including his tie is bought at Marks & Spencer. He does not dress in the tracksuits when he is on touchline.
