The legendary tennis player was born on 16th May, 1970 in Buenos Aires, Argentina to parents Beatriz Garofalo Sabatini and Osvaldo Sabatini. Her father Osvaldo Sabatini is an executive of General Motors. She has an elder brother as well. She has a tall covetous height of 5 feet 9 inch which makes her a good athlete. She holds an Argentine nationality and belongs to the Roman Catholic religion.

Growing up wasn’t very easy for Gabriela as she was very introvert. She said that she used to lack self-confidence and which made her struggle a bit with her game. Gabriela Sabatini started her career in the junior category wherein she went on to become the world No. 1 tennis player in her category. She was considered to be the greatest women player during 1980-1995. Gabriel has won many awards during her illustrious career. Her career record is an unbelievable 252-96 as she won 14 titles. Her best ever world ranking was No. 3 in 1988. In 1990, she won the women’s singles title at the US Open. In addition to that, Gabriela won the women’s doubles title at Wimbledon in the year 1988. She received a silver medal in the prestigious Olympic Games in the same year.

She found her passion in tennis when she was only six years of age. Gabriela Sabatini won her first tournament at the mere age of eight. Few years later when she turned thirteen, she became the youngest player who ever won the Orange Bowl in Florida. Gabriela had won six major international titles in the junior category itself.

She was declared the best junior player in the world in the year 1984. Needless to say, Gabriela Sabatini has proved to the world that she was a world class tennis player since her early days itself.
