Dana Tyler, born on 24th November 1958, has been an American reporter and news anchor with WCBS-TV. She has been anchoring the newscast of the WCBS-TV at 6 pm. At the same time, she has also been hosting a weekly program entitled Eye on New York for WCBS. Tyler became associated with WCBS as a reporter and anchor on 16th July 1990.


Personal Life

Tyler was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States. Her parents re-located at Worthington, Ohio for better career opportunities. She spent her early life in Worthington and was admitted to Worthington High School. After finishing her high school education, she joined Boston University. She studied journalism at the University where she was awarded a scholarship. She took time off to undertake acting lessons for fun. Nothing is on record regarding her parents and siblings.

Tyler is not a married woman, but her private life needs a special mention. She started dating Phil Collins, a musician, since mid-2006. They kept their relationship under wrap for around four years. They dated each other for around eight years after which she got a rude shock from her boyfriend. Collins suddenly revealed his intention to end the relationship with Tyler to be reunited with his ex-wife.

He had previously divorced his wife one year before the start of a relationship with Tyler. The incident shocked Tyler so much that she took around three months to recover. Career

Tyler started her career in broadcasting in the year 1985 when she got a chance to be associated with WBNS-TV News Program situated in Columbus, Ohio. However, her career got an uplift in 1990, when she joined WCBS. She anchored the 6 pm newscast, but very soon, in 1993, started to anchor the newscast of 5 pm and 11 pm also. She has anchored alongside Reggie Harris in a newscast in New York.

Tyler has co-anchored alongside many renowned TV news anchors such as Jim Jensen, Ernie Anastos, Brian Williams, Michele Marsh, John Johnson, Roz Abrams, and Ira Joe Fisher, to name just a few. She stayed put on her post while several reporters, anchors, weather, and sportspersons were dismissed or fired in 1996. She acted in an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond in the year 2000.

During the same year, Tyler acted as a reporter in the Small Time Crooks of Woody Allen. Tyler came back as an anchor for the newscast of 11 pm on WCBS alongside her duties for 6 pm on 17th April 2006. As for awards and nominations, there is no record Tyler received any.
