Cedella Marley was born on August 23, 1967 in Kingston, the capital of Jamaica. She is the daughter of legendary Jamaican reggae musician Bob Marley and Rita Marley. She is the eldest among all her sisters. She had several siblings which included Ziggy Marley, Sharon Marley, and Stephen Marley.

She was brought up under strict rule even though she was born of an aristocratic lifestyle, She attended a Catholic boarding school.

In 1993, Cedella got married to Davido Minto. In this marriage, they gave birth to three children. The names of the sons are Soul Rebel, Skip, and Saiyan. Cedella Marley and her family live in Miami, Florida.

Career and Net Worth

Cedella Marley became the vocalist of their family bands, Ziggy Marley and Melody Makers. She became the 4th of the Ziggy Marley and Melody Makers band. It was their father’s vision of bringing people together through music and melody. The bands were made of ten Marley children and were led by their brother Ziggy Marley. The band, Ziggy Marley, released over 10 studio albums, three of which won the Grammy Award. The names of the albums are Fallen In Babylon, Conscious Party, and One Bright Day. Their songs have also been used as themes songs in TV shows like, Tomorrow People and Look Who’s Dancin. The band later split in 2002.

Cedella also appeared in several movies such as the 1993 film, Joey Breaker that starred Richard Edson. She was also in the 1989 film called Mighty Quinn. Cedella became the CEO of Tuff Gong International in 1993, a Bob Marley Record company that was established in 1965. It is a record label that serves various Jamaican artists which includes Bob Marley’s sons.

Cedella Marley became the head of The Bob Marley Foundation a charity foundation that gives financial assistance to hospitals and also provides Jamaican Students with scholarships. In 2001, she ventured into the fashion business launching her clothing line titled Catch a Fire. The line was very successful that it got featured in Women’s Wear Daily and Vogue and even at stores like Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus.

She launched another line with PUMA in 2012, which targeted Jamaican athletes at the 2012 Olympics. The line featured athletes like Usain Bolt. Currently, she is a designer for Zion Rootswear.

She has authored books like “One Love”, released in September 2011. She also wrote children's books called The Boy from Nine Miles (The Early Life of Bob Marley), Three Little Birds, Every Little Thing. Distributed by Chronicle Books in 2012 is Cedella's Every Little Thing is adapted from the verses to her father's adored melody "Three Little Birds". Appearing in an Off Broadway Children's play adaptation in 2014 this current children's book was a follow up to One Love.

She was featured in a 2012 documentary, Marley. She also launched a cannabis brand called Marley Natural in November 2014, it is a family developed brand in association with Privateer Holdings of Washington State, US.
