Born in the year 1977 on 19th February, to father Laurence T. Sorkin and mother Joan Ross Sorkin, in New York situated in the United States of America, Andrew Ross Sorkin spent the better part of his early days in New York. The particulars about his early days and childhood life are not known. There is also no detail available about whether he has any brothers or sisters. He was enrolled in the Scarsdale High School which is situated in Scarsdale in New York, United States of America. He passed out of this school in 1995, following which he joined Cornell University for further education. He completed his education and secured a Bachelor of Science degree from the university and graduated in 1999 from there.


Although, it is not known how his interest in journalism began or how he decided to pursue this career, but he started working towards pursuing a career in journalism even before his graduation from the Scarsdale High School. He was selected as an intern at the New York Times during his school days which he continued during his college days as well. Even after his graduation, he stayed with The New York Times and became a permanent worker there.

In just one year, he received a promotion and was appointed as the chief merger as well as acquisition reporter of the newspaper. It was around this time that he came up with the idea of starting his own website which will be based on the news related to finances and economics. He went on to start his website named DealBook which gained a lot of popularity. He is highly appreciated for his work in the New York Times and is regarded as the man who was responsible for covering some of the most important news related to the acquisitions as well as mergers in the country. He was responsible for covering the story of the acquisition of JPMorgan Chase by the Chase Company, the acquisition of Compaq by Hewlett-Packard, and much more like these.

After some years, he joined CNBC in 2011 and was given the opportunity to host the show named Squawk Box. This led him to gain other opportunities to appear on several other shows and he went on to work in Today show which airs on NBC, Good Morning America which airs on ABC, Hardball which airs on MSNBC, and much more like these. He also turned to an author when his first book titled Too Big to Fail was published in 2009. This book went on to become a bestseller and was also the recipient of several awards and honors.

Speaking about the personal aspect of his life, he is married to Pilar Queen and the couple got married in 2007. His wife Pilar is a literary agent who works at the Inkwell Management which is situated in New York, United States of America. His biography states that they are very happily married and Andrew has a budding career. His net worth is believed to be approximate $10 Million.
