Michael Thomas Green or Tom Green, as he is better known, is a Canadian actor, comedian, host of talk shows and a filmmaker. He is popular all across for shock comedies and received mainstream prominence through the MTV television show, “The Tom Green Show”. Tom Green is also popular for his role in the leading Hollywood films like “Road Trip”, “Freddy Got Fingered”, “Charlie’s Angels”, “Shred” and “Stealing Harvard”. He was also a guest host for the famous “Late Show With David Letterman” that led him to host his late-night talk show on the MTV, “The New Tom Green Show”.
Tom Green Early life and Bio
Tom Green was born in Ontario, Canada, in the year 1971. He was the first of the two sons of Richard Green and Mary Jane. He grew up in Pembroke on Canada’s Army Base and then, later on, he lived in Ontario, Gloucester where he also attended Colonel by Secondary School, Henry Munro Middle School, and Cairine Wilson Secondary School. He attended classes at Algonquin College to study television broadcasting and then completed graduation in the year 1994.
He started performing Stand Up Comedy at a tender age of 15 years at the local clubs like Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Club. He continued to do stand-up comedy for around 2-3 years till he canceled a booking to visit New York City for the rap group of his.
Tom Green's Career
Tom did stand-up comedy for 2-3 years when he was just 15 years old and then started doing the Radio shows. He also hosted call-in show overnight on the campus radio station of the University of Ottawa. This 1990 show which was rap music originally entitled as ‘The Rap Show’ was then followed by electronic music show by Glen Humplik. As Glen and Tom met quite often, they became friends. The radio show of Tom got shifted to call-in-show and then the two came together and hosted, “The Midnight Caller Show”. The main format or structure of “The Midnight Caller” is to have the listeners call Tom and then Glen making fun of them. Tom and Glen would hang calls and poke fun. The show became a hit all due to its uniqueness, originality, and novelty.
In the 1990s Green was a rapper for a short period of time. He joined the group known as Organized Rhyme under “MC Bones” alias. In the year 1998, “Not the Green Tom Show” got released. This album revolved around the theme of Tom’s face.
