Canadian comic, tv show host, radio show host and author of a book, Mike Bullard is a man with an incredible comic timing which keeps his audience engaged. Mike Bullard, age 61, was born on June 12th, 1957 in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada and he grew up in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. He is an alumnus at Erindale Secondary School, Mississauga, Ontario whose motto is ‘Let all who merit bear the palm’. His brother is Pat Bullard who is a host for game shows, reality shows and also writes for sitcoms.

Mike Bullard’s Career

Bullard started working as a law enforcement officer with Peel Regional Police. He did not work there for long as he resigned because it wasn’t permissible to work in comedy clubs part-time. After which he worked in Bell Canada where was promoted to associate director of corporate investigation, all the while working as a part-time stand-up comedian. He performed in over 1400 shows as a part-time comedian before quitting his job at Bell Canada.

His comedy career took off a few weeks later and Bullard landed the job of host Open Mike, a Canadian late night talk show. It was called ‘Open Mike with Mike Bullard’ and it aired at primetime on CTV Television Network and The Comedy Network, every night for six years (1997-2003). He also won a Gemini Award for the show. In 1999, he published the ‘Open Book: Little Thoughts From A Big Head’.

After the expiration of Bullard’ CTV contract in 2003, he signed on with Global for a multi-year contract. His show on Global was called ‘The Mike Bullard Show’ and it was similar to ‘Open Mike with Mike Bullard’ and it too aired at primetime. However ‘The Mike Bullard Show’ did not do well and was canceled only after thirteen weeks.After his show got canceled, he went back to doing stand-up comedy at comedy clubs. He did some trivial works like a weight loss commercial, cameo appearance in a skit at Gemini Awards and released his comedy CD, ‘Stick 2 Comedy’.

He hosted another TV show, ‘HouseCapades’ in 2006. In 2006, he joined satellite radio and launched a show on XM Radio Canada, called ‘Laugh Attack’. But only after five months, it too got canceled. He even went on to have a radio talk show, ‘The Mike Bullard Show’ on Talk820 Radio (CHAM-AM) between 2009 and 2010. After which he hosted ‘Beyond the Mic with Mike Bullard’ in Toronto on Newstalk 1010. Presently, Bullard is a member of the Board of Directors of The Living Arts Centre.

Bullard’s wife is Debbie Bullard. Not much is known about Debbie other than the fact that she is Bullard’s spouse. Bullard got married to a Bell Canada associate, Debbie in 1984, who had two children aged 3 and 5 at the time of their marriage.

Did Mike Bullard Get Divorced?

There are no public records on the web regarding a divorce but Bullard had been in the media attention since his ex-girlfriend, Cynthia Mulligan, a news presenter at CityNews, filed a criminal harassment complaint against him in July 2016. Bullard and Mulligan were in an eight-month relationship, during which they broke up and made up thrice.

After the final breakup in April 2016, Bullard was still messaging, calling and visiting her at work, even after Mulligan had made her displeasure known. The case went on for two years, during which Bullard had breached the conditions of his bails multiple times. The case wrapped up in June 2018 when Bullard pleaded guilty.
