Tavi Gevinson

Personal life

Tavi was born in 1996 in Chicago. Her father is a retired school teacher and her mother is a weaver. Her mother is also a Hebrew instructor. Tavi was born in a Jewish family and she has two elder sisters. She went to a school in Illinois and took a year gap before pursuing her college education in New York University.

Tavi dated someone in her high school and broke up. She did not reveal his name but, she said that she hated being heartbroken, when he broke up with her. The reason for the break up is not known to the media. Tavi dated Ezra Koeing when he was 30 and she was just 18. He broke up with her on her 19th birthday. Tavi never commented on this incident. She never mentioned that she was dating Ezra. No reason was given for the break up. She never talked about her romantic life in public. During interviews, she accepts questions only about fashion. She talks about her parents too.

It is assumed that she is not dating anyone, as of now. She is not seen with anyone with whom she could be rumored with. She was never a part of any extra marital affair and she never announced that she was in a celebrity relationship. She has been in the limelight since the age of 12 and she has managed to keep her personal life to herself. It is believed that she has orthodox parents and a very modern life was not be permitted in her house. When she was 18, there were rumors that she was dating David Shapiro, a blogger. She was seen with him in 2011 in the Pitchfork Festival. The rumor died immediately, due to lack of proof.

Career

In 2008, Tavi started a fashion blog, Style Rookie. She gained 30,000 readers every days and she got interviewed by The New York Times for her blog. She attended New York Fashion Week and also did a lot of funded trips around the world. She also wrote articles for Harper’s Bazar and many magazines.

She was the model for Rodarte’s clothing line. She also sold her own T-shirts. He father took her out of school, to avoid publicity. In 2011, she stopped writing for fashion and started, Rookie Magazine. It was a joint venture initially and now; it is her sole ownership. The physical print of the magazine was published in 2012. In the same year, she was recognized as one in the list of Forbes 30 under 30.

She acted in a short film, First Bass in 2008. She voiced a character in a film, Cadavar and got listed for Academy Award. She also sang songs in the film. She was interviewed for documentary in 2013. In 2014, she starred in This Is Our Youth. She also played roles in theatre productions. In 2012, she took part in presidential campaign and supported Barack Obama. She also spoke about women’s rights in public service announcement. Her net worth is 145 million dollars.
