Maureen Mcguire

Maureen McGuire is an American-born journalist who is most known as the ex-wife of Michael Bolton, a well-known and successful American musician and songwriter. She is also renowned for her work as a journalist.

Background

On May 27, 1969, she was born to David and Darlene Collins in Rochester, New York. She has two brothers, David Collins Jr. and Michael Collins. She attended Bishop Kearney High School before pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York. She continued to obtain a graduate degree in journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

After graduating from the University of Missouri, she worked as a reporter in Columbia, Jefferson City, Traverse City, St.Louis, and ultimately back in her hometown of Rochester. "I moved back because I wanted to be closer to friends and family. It was the best move I ever made", she stated in an interview.

"I've been working as a journalist for 27 years", she mentioned in the same 2017 interview, "a fact that sometimes surprises me. That's because I had NO idea what career to pursue when I graduated from college." "I studied English and Math in college. Then moved to New York City and spend a couple of years bouncing around from job to job, mostly at publishing companies. I even freelanced as a studio musician playing piano on soundtracks. My interests were all over the place – but instead of drifting along endlessly, I was lucky. At each of my jobs, I encountered mentors who picked up on my affinity for writing and encouraged me to pursue a career where I'd get to write all the time.

"I like this work because no one day is like the other. I get to meet different people all the time. I'm paid to ask questions, do research, take pictures and write my heart out. It is something, but it's also stressful, which is a big downside. Especially in broadcast news, deadlines are always weighing on you."

Career

Maureen McGuire began her career as a reporter and spent 27 years as a journalist. She was able to become a journalist after putting in a lot of effort during her career. Following that, she became interested in writing and worked in publishing houses.

She has worked for WROC-TV and is currently involved with several local charities, including The Breast Coalition of Rochester, The Scott Spino Literacy Foundation. She has received numerous essential media awards for her social work, including Legacy Senior Living, NYS School Music Association, etc.

Aside from that, she rose to prominence after marrying her ex-husband Michael Bolton, whose real name is Michael Bolotin. He is a well-known American singer and composer who has achieved tremendous success and renown in his profession, and Maureen has benefited from his celebrity.

Marriage, Divorce and Personal Life

Maureen was previously married to Michael Bolton (Bolotin) for 15 years. They married on May 4, 1975, and later divorced in 1990. Together they have three daughters: Isa, Holly, and Taryn. Additionally, Taryn gave birth to Maureen's first grandchild, a daughter, in October of 2010 and another daughter a year later. Maureen currently has five grandchildren.

Taryn opened a Resale shop for young children in 2013. "After I had my kids, I realized how much stuff we go through and how much waste we create and what we don't need", she explained. Her famous father helped boost the store's numbers when he tweeted, "So proud of my daughter Taryn and her new baby consignment store Around the Rosy!" on March 17, 2014.

Michael Bolton is a famous singer and songwriter who has sold more than 75 million records. He has recorded eight top 10 albums and two number-one singles on the Billboard charts and has also won six American Music Awards, two Grammys in 1989 and 1991, and an Emmy nomination in 2005. Since 1975 Bolton has released 17 studio albums and 35 singles. He has performed with such artists as Lucia Aliberti, Patti LaBelle, Jose Carreras, Tony Cetinski, Ray Charles, Celine Dion, Placido Domingo, Renee Fleming, Wynonna Judd, BB King, The Lonely Island, Luciano Pavarotti, Percy Sledge, and Zucchero. Bolton performed the 1997 "Go the Distance" for the Disney animated motion picture Hercules which became a Top 40 single. Philanthropy

Like Maureen, Michael is a philanthropist who serves as honorary chairman of Prevent Child Abuse America, national chairman for This Close for Cancer Research, and a board member for the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. In 1993 he established the Michael Bolton Charities to assist women and children at risk from the effects of poverty, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. Michael Bolton was never remarried, although he dated Nicollette Sheridan for many years.
