Jon Batiste

Jon Batiste’s full name is Jonathan Batiste. He is American musician, a TV personality and bandleader. He had recorded and performed with different artists from different genres like Mavis Staples, Ed Sheeran, Lenny Kravitz, Willie Nelson and Stevie Wonder Prince. He released different recordings and from 2005, she performed in over 40 countries. Batiste tours with the band named Stay Human, and he is their bandleader and their musical director for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He is also a music director for The Atlantic and a creative director of National Jazz Museum of In Harlem. ,


Biography

Jon Batiste was born in the city of Kenner in Louisiana and it was in the family of the musicians which include Harold Battiste and Lionel Batiste. When he reached 8 years, he was playing the percussion and the drums with the band of his family called the Batiste Brothers Band. His mother suggested that he switches to playing piano when he was 11 years old. He developed the piano skills through taking the classical music lesson and was transcribing the songs from the video games like Sonic The Hedgehog, Final Fantasy VII, Street Fighter Alpha.

Career

When he was 17 years, he released the song Times In New Orleans. He went to New Orleans Center of Creative Arts together with Trombone Shorty. He graduated in the year 2004 and continued in getting the master’s degree at Julliard School. He released a second album called Live in New York: AT the Rubin Museum of Art in the year 2006. It was featuring performers from South Africa, United States, Paris, Spain, Lisbon and London.

In the year 2007, he made a debut album at Concertgebouw in the city of Amsterdam when he was 20 years old. He was performing and producing his own show. He conducted a music clinic, workshop and classes in Netherland in it’s under privileged school and Inner city schools. He got invited go back to the Carnegie Hall where he performed and produced own show which included six musicians who were from this country. The performance ended with the finale that he composed with orchestral and jazz combo instruments.

In the year 2005, he started to perform on regular basis in New York and on Julliard peers with the Bassist Phil Kuehn and the drummer Joe Saylor. Afterwards, he added Eddie Barbash on the alto saxophone and then Ibanda Ruhumbika on the Tuba. Batiste, together with Stay Human, they appeared at The Colbert Report and they were performing the single of the group called Express Yourself.

Jon Batiste is not yet married and was in relationship with Suleika Jaouad but they had broken up. He has no recorded divorce.
