David Giuntoli

David Giuntoli is an American actor who is popularly known for his role as Det. Nick Burkhardt in the TV show Grimm, which is aired on NBC. Some of his other popular roles include Michael Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi which was released in the year 2016.


Personal Life

David Giuntoli was born in the city of Milwaukee, in Wisconsin, United States of America. He is born on June 18,1980. David’s parents are of different descents, with his father being Italian and Polish while his mother is Austrian.

Giuntoli was brought up in Huntleigh which is in St. Louis, Missouri. In his biography he has described himself to be less of an athlete as a young child. His interest in acting began peaking in high school. Shortly after completing his graduation from St.Louis University High School in the year 1998, Giuntoli moved to Bloomington to earn his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. He graduated in 2002, with his degree in International Business and Finance.

After completing his graduation Giuntoli felt the urge to drift towards his passion of becoming an entertainer and wanted to pursue a career in that instead of a financial career, as he was passionate about making people laugh since a very young age, his interests were noted well by his family as well. To embark on the path of becoming an actor he began training under his theatre teacher from high school.

Giuntoli confirmed that he was in a relationship with Bitsie Tulloch, his Grimm co-star in December 2014. Later in July 2016, he revealed that the duo was engaged since April 2016 and they got married in June 2017.

Career

Giuntoli was first discovered by MTV talent scouts in 2003 and he was subsequently cast in Road Rules: South Pacific, a reality TV show by MTV. It was a adventure show based out of the South Pacific lasting over three long months. Following his stint, he appeared on Real World/Road Rules Challenge in it’s seventh season. The show helped Giuntoli to pay his college debt and encouraged him to pursue a career in acting.

He then moved to Los Angeles to advance his career and in the year 2007 he began studying under acting teacher and director Chris Fields, following which he joined the Echo Theatre Company. Subsequently Giuntoli appeared in a string of roles in numerous TV series and television movies such as Veronica Mars, Ghost Whisperer, Nip/Tuck, Privileged, Cold Case and Without a Trace.

Giuntoli was also a popular contender for the titular role of the reboot Superman Movie titled Man Of Steel, a role which eventually went to British actor Henry Cavill. Giuntoli’s most popular role was on the TV show Grimm, which first aired on TV in October 2011. He portrayed the role of the leading man, a detective named Nick Burkhardt, who is popular for hunting monsters.

Giuntoli more recently was part of the film Buddymoon (2016), a light hearted comedy movie where he essays the role of David. He was also in Michael Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, where he portrayed the role of Scott Wickland.
