Alex Rodriguez was born in the Washington Heights area of Manhattan, in New York City, located in the state of New York, in the country of the United States of America, thereby making him a citizen of the country by virtue of his birth. Alex Rodriguez’s parents were immigrants from the Dominican Republic. A country where he did move to at the age of four. Later his family shifted to the city of Miami, in the state of Florida.

From his Mother’s previous marriage, Alex Rodriguez has two half-siblings. He was married to Cynthia Scurtis in 2000 but the couple divorce in 2008. He is currently in a relationship with Jennifer Lopez. Alex's life has not been with controversy. In 2013, he was suspected of taking steroids.

Career

As a student, Alex Rodriguez attended the Christopher Columbus High School and it was from there itself that he was on the baseball team as the star shortstop and he even won the high school national championship. Alex Rodriguez has also been crowned the USA Baseball Junior Player of the Year. In the year 1993, Alex Rodriguez even tried out for the United States National Baseball Team. The number of awards he has won is huge: 2 Gold Glove Awards, 10 Silver Slugger Awards. He also won the award for the most valuable player. Alex donates a lot of money to charity including Raising Malawi, Keeping a Child Alive and Unicef.
