Fareed Zakaria

Fareed Rafiq Zakaria is an Indian-American journalist and author. He was born on January 20, 1964 in Mumbai, India. His father Rafiq, an Islamic scholar and a politician associated with the Indian National Congress. His father joined the Indian movement freedom. His mother Fatima, a journalist worked as an editor of the Sunday edition of the Times of India. Zakaria did his schooling in The Cathedral & John Connon School, Mumbai, India. He has a B.A. degree from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Government from Harvard University (1993). While in Yale University, he was very active in several activities. He was the editor-in-chief of the Yale Political Monthly, member of the Scroll and Key Society, member of the Party of the Right and president of the Yale Political Union.

Three of them had been the best seller in New York Times and three of which become the best seller non-fiction books for a year under Washington Post. The books were translated into twenty languages. The documentaries that were based on the books were nominated for the two Emmy awards and they also won the Emmy for the best documentary for the year 2013.
